I Can't Be Good at Everything

I found something that I suck at this weekend. Photography. Sure, I can take some little point and click camera and take candids, but give me options and I'm screwed. I had opportunity to use a Nikkon Digital SLR camera yesterday and everything came out blurry, dark, or overexposed. I understand HOW to take good photos, I know what would make a good photo, but I can't do it. Aperture, focus, zoom, white balance, exposure time, flash, shutter speed... it's one thing to know what they do. It's another to understand how they all work together. I feel a trip to the bookstore is in my near future. I'll learn how to do this.
